At first, I had a horrible experience because they rented me a 12x30 storage unit on an incline. I was going to park my trailer and antique car there, but because of the steep incline, I couldn’t get my trailer to swing up it without bottoming out. I called the help desk, and they refunded my money. But originally, I found one that was open, but they wouldn’t let me switch it; I had to pay for it first. I had no choice but to leave my car, so I rented a 10x20 and took my trailer to a trusted coworker's house on Ft Eustis until my house is completed. Oh, and all this happened in a matter of hours. I drove up from South Georgia because I was reassigned to VA. I only had one day to come up with a solution. I am going to continue renting a place here until my home is built. The place is convenient, quiet, and in a good area in Williamsburg. I would rather rent here than Public Storage in Newport. They flat-out lied to me about the size of their storage space.", "date": "2026-06-02T21:24:49.000Z", "verifiedTenant": false, "featured": false, "reply": "Thank you for sharing your experience, T J. The units are reasonably priced and clean, the staff is friendly (that guy Todd is awesome), and the location is perfect if you're anywhere between the Lee Hall area of Newport News/York County and Downtown Williamsburg/CW. Then again, even if you don't live in one of those areas, the facility is DIRECTLY off the interstate so I'd imagine it would be convenient for lots of other folks as well.\n\nYou get to use their moving truck for free when moving in, and it's only 30 bucks to rent it after that - and the truck's bigger and nicer than what you'd get for that price elsewhere. Also, I have to say (and maybe there are several Jack Rabbit trucks that move from location to location, so I don't know if I just lucked out), I was honestly surprised by how well it responded on both acceleration and braking, and how smooth the ride was... not that that's incredibly important, but it was a nice unexpected bonus compared to other moving trucks I've driven. I would say though, if you know when you want the truck, try to reserve it in advance, because I think there's only one on site. I went in to pick it up on moving day and somebody was at the counter trying to rent it... so, good thing I'd already reserved it our I would have been out of luck.\n\nSo while I honestly hope NOT to be moving again anytime soon, if I did end up needing storage for whatever reason, I honestly wouldn't even bother looking anywhere else; these guys've earned my repeat business three times over.", "date": "2017-12-15T23:29:47.000Z", "verifiedTenant": false, "featured": false, "reply": "Josh, THANK YOU for your outstanding review of our Williamsburg location! I have no complaints, no issues, and no rodents. They are extremely good with their security checks. They really do check every unit (i'm not sure how often). I went to my unit one night after work to grab something, after doing so, I shut the door and locked my unit (so i thought). They called me the NEXT DAY to inform me that my unit was not properly secured. I was very thankful and happy to know that I have peace of mind where my belongings are stored. The two managers who live on the property were very friendly, they were always very accommodating - even with the smallest requests..I could not be happier with the service. Prices were very competitive to others in the area but it was the warm customer service that really won me over. I recommend them to those seeing self storage in the area. Always there to offer support and is always checking on all the units to ensure no one is messing around with your stuff and works with you on months that you are having a hard time with money.
