Not only do they raise the rent, seemingly every month, but they FORCE and extra $15 for their rental insurance. I HAVE RENTAL INSURANCE! But it's like they refuse to take it. I went from paying $85 a month, before Corpo. StarStorage took over, and now I'm up to $150. I'm glad I was able to finally get a garage at my apartment complex. The buisness has changed names\\/management\\/ ownership 3 times...each time with a price increase included. 2 months ago they called and notified me that my shed was \\\"found open with the lock missing and hasp damaged. The new manager insinuated that we cut off our own lock...how ridiculous. When it was finally decided that we had been victims of a robbery....the manager could not provide any information to the police because the camera system was not working. She could not tell us how long the camera system had not been working. We lost over $2000 worth of items we had been sending back from Latin America. I contacted the manager's boss and he told me \\\"file your insurance claim...that's what it is for...robbery is just part of the storage buisness...nothing we can do about it\\\". I strongly advise everyone and anyone to stay away from this buisness. They offered absolutely no remorse for their incompetence. As a matter of fact...2 weeks after we were robbed, I received an email notification that they were raising our rent again. She got me a 5x10 climate controlled unit. She was very helpful and professional. The units are secure, safe and clean. We almost had a problem because I had some snack cakes i was going to put in a smell proof container , but this facility allows no food , at all. She got pretty mad and so did i , but we defused the situation and all is well. He falsely accused me of breaking in to units no where near where I've been finally working to liquidate my things. I am 70 years old and do not deserve this kind of harassment. He then told me I am no longer allowed to have anyone pick up items from my units like heavy furniture etc. I never give anyone my code and make sure they are honest people before allowing them to follow me in. He then tried to convince me to just turn over all of my possessions to him to auction off telling me I would not have to pay storage any longer! He knows I have valuable antiques there, his telling me he looked at my marketplace listings, then he even sternly said \\\"you are not allowed to run a business out of your storage units\\\". I am not in business! I am just selling my furnishings from my mountain home I sold a few years ago, and for him to spy on my marketplace listings is over the top! Non of his business!
